Dive Timor Lorosae is proud to be the first and only operator offering tech diving and tech diving courses in Timor Leste. With deep walls and sloping reefs reaching from around 3-5 metres to well below 50 metres, our dive sites offer the perfect opportunity to explore these rich deep waters.
What is Technical Diving?
Technical diving (often referred to as Tech diving) is a form of scuba diving that exceeds the conventional limits – especially depth and bottom time – of recreational diving. Staged decompression is required when exceeding these limits meaning the surface would not be immediately accessible in an emergency. Tec divers use extensive procedures, equipment and training to manage the added risks and potential hazards.
Tech Diving Trips
We can organise guided tech diving trips for divers already qualified who would be interested in exploring the deeper areas of our dive sites. Contact us about modifying a dive trip to fit your needs.
Tech Diving Courses
DTL offers the PADI TecRec range of courses beginning with a one dive experience to just try it out and then progressing from a new tech diver to one qualified to dive to 50m and using multiple gases for accelerated decompression.
Why Learn Tech Diving?
Not only does technical diving extend the depths and time available to you on dives allowing you to explore areas not normally accessible to others, but also makes you more self reliant. You will gain skills in detailed dive planning as well as how to handle any problems that could arise during a dive. Many divers get into tech diving for the challenge to learn something new and bring their diving skills to a whole new level!
